It's been a long while since my last post here, and I've really missed the very positive impact that writing brings about on my thinking. I can read a lot of blogs or books, but it takes actual writing down of elusive ideas to put my thoughts into order.

With two qualifying exams out of door, now my focus has definitively shifted toward research and publishing, of which writing is the most important part. Most likely I will end up doing some work in the field of Industrial Organization, what remains to be decided is whether I would lean more toward game theory approach, which would be more theoretical, or more toward empirical approach, which is heavily gravitated toward advanced econometrics techniques. Ideally I would love to cover both, but it does not look this is a real possibility, at least from what I see from the recent publications in this field.
